Flying sites

Our principle outdoor site is Port Meadow (map). This site is arguably one of the finest sites in the South. The site can be accessed from Godstow Car Park, shown on the map at the edge of Wolvercote village.

Only Oxford Model Flying club members are allowed to fly from this site. Visitors are allowed to fly by arrangement or invitation and production of 3rd party liability insurance. Find out more about joining the club.

Temporary Membership

Visitors are allowed to fly on production of a certificate of 5 million pounds third party liability insurance to a committee member or nominee on the day. He / she must apply to the membership secretary (see contact) before the third visit.

Restrictions on use

Only members of the O.M.F.C will be permitted by the Oxford City Estates Committee to use the meadow for flying purposes. If members find others flying in the area they will refer them to the club committee for official action.

Meteors Club reciprocal arrangement

Details of a reciprocal arrangement we have with the Meteors Model Flying Club can be found on the second page of the forthcoming events.

Other sites

There are many places to go both locally and nationally to suit every modeller’s needs. Wittenham Clumps and the Uffington White Horse in the local area are available to keep our soaring skills in.
